Senior Investment Expert – Event-Driven Equity +

The Malin Family is seeking a senior investment professional with deep experience across U.S. Event-Driven equity, including structured capital solutions, blockchain-related investments and regulatory considerations across digital assets and technologies. We are looking for investors who are experienced in working with company management teams to evaluate business plans, assess capital needs, and design appropriate investment structures. The Expert will help provide targeted exposure to U.S. special situations, including Chapter 11, restructurings, distressed equity, recapitalizations, and corporate turnaround opportunities.

Overview +

The role requires partner-level experience working directly with company management teams to evaluate business plans and design appropriate investment structures across debt, equity and hybrid instruments.

Experience +
  • Partner-level background in event-driven equity and special situations investing, including early-stage investment, special situations equity, private credit, structured capital or distressed/opportunistic investing
  • 20+ years of experience with a track record of AUM growth and partnership sourcing, with exposure to new market or business entry
  • Significant experience working with management teams to evaluate business plans, assess financial alternatives and determine capital solutions
  • Experience investing in and advising blockchain-related companies, with a focus on regulatory analysis, digital asset market structure, compliance considerations, and institutional investment opportunities across tokenized and blockchain-enabled business models.
  • Strong ability to design and negotiate capital structures. Demonstrated execution capability across debt, equity and hybrid instruments
  • Deep understanding of U.S. markets, corporate finance and valuation. Strong focus on downside protection and transaction execution
Investment Capabilities +

Private event-driven equity, structured equity, convertibles, recapitalisations and opportunistic or special situations investments.

Investment Analyst +

Malin Family Office is seeking an investment analyst to support research and portfolio monitoring across public and private markets. The role suits someone with 3–5 years of experience in investment analysis or portfolio operations who is looking to work in a focused environment where detail matters and the work reaches decision-makers directly.

Overview +

The analyst will prepare investment committee materials and monitor portfolio performance across listed and private allocations. The work includes preparing reconciled reports and supporting the investment team with evidence-based analysis that informs capital deployment decisions.

Experience +
  • 3–5 years in investment analysis or portfolio operations within asset management, private banking or family office settings
  • Strong financial modelling skills, with experience in discounted cash flow and scenario analysis
  • Experience preparing investment committee materials with attention to clarity and accuracy
  • Familiarity with both public markets and private capital structures
  • Ability to reconcile data from multiple sources and present findings in a clear, narrative format
